Jackie Baxter is raising money for Àban
**Thankyou so much to everyone who donated! We did the swim but am trying to get the photos from a corrupted SD card - watch this space!**
Malky's wild swimming journey began in Spring/Summer 2022 when I started cold dipping to help with Long Covid. Malky was often a reluctant participant, but I think he enjoyed it some of the time. Not that he would admit it.
Probably against his better judgement, he's been persuaded to swim the Kessock Swim this year. This involves swimming from South Kessock to North Kessock (and back), a distance of about 1.2km, which is twice as far as he's ever swum before....
It's possible he might actually enjoy the experience, but just in case he doesn't he's raising money for Aban, a local charity who are running the swim, but their thing is helping young people get out into the outdoors.
If anyone has any spare pennies, think of Malky on Saturday, battling waves, seaweed and hopefully not any jellyfish for no reason at all other than that he didn't say "no" quickly enough when I suggested it.
(I'm also swimming it, but I actually enjoy this stuff)
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Àban.

We did it! (photos currently with the tech guys as they try to recover a corrupted SD card noooooo!!!)
You'll see me on the right - my pink bobble hat just visible towards the front, and Malky's big head top left where he's questioning his life choices.
My time was about 47 mins and Malky 59 mins - he was absolutely fine once he got some hot food in him!

Here Malky actually looks sort of happy (but maybe that's because it's before he cut his long hair off!)
