5, 4, 3, 2, 1… London here I come!

Helen Ward is raising money for Boost Charitable Trust, Hope4Malawi and Sarcoma UK

My story

5 years ago I was lined up to start London… but a certain special little man put paid to that…

4 weeks from now, it will be my 4th attempt to subsequently cross the “London Marathon” starting line (2019 Flynn, 2020 COVID, 2021 Nia, 2022 recovering! 2023 rehab after crushing my tibia 🤢)

3 amazing charities: BOOST, Hope4Malawi and Sarcoma UK would love your support (details below), 3 amazing Houstons have been mine 🥰

2 6.2 miles on the day, over 900 miles run in training to get there (the equivalent of running to Brussels AND back!)

1 goal - to enjoy every last minute of this  journey.

If you are able to donate, it will make a huge difference to the people the charities support.

Helen x

A little more about the three charities you can choose to support:

Hope4Malawi - The pandemic highlighted the value of education. Just £20 a month for four years covers the cost of funding a student through secondary school in Malawi, continuing their learning from the primary school in Chipwepwete where I help support the feeding program.

BOOST - the pandemic also drew attention to the value of physical and mental wellbeing - for all. BOOST champions the disabled and disadvantaged to inspire them to overcome their challenges through the power of sport.

Sarcoma UK - my school are supporting Sarcoma UK this year after members of our community were sadly affected by this rare cancer. It is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Boost Charitable Trust, Hope4Malawi and Sarcoma UK.
