Lucy Norman GNR for Beacon

In September I will be taking on my first half marathon in aid of Beacon for Rare Diseases!

Having studied and lived in Newcastle and with The Great North Run being the worlds biggest half marathon it really was the perfect choice for my first! Beacon was also the perfect charity to raise money for and I was pleased to have the opportunity to do it in their name.

I first heard of Beacon when my sister started working for them as a graduate and have since learnt a lot about the important work they undertake.

It’s a lesser known charity working to unite members of the rare disease community, connecting patients and families to share their experiences. Training patient groups to empower them to grow and advocate on their own behalf. Promoting drug repurposing to treat the worlds rarest patients.
