My story

Yes, I’m swapping the office for the dance-floor… all in the name of charity! 🚨 🌟

But… it looks like I’ve been well and truly stitched up! 👀

The day of partner selection, completely out of the blue, I got a call from Gavin Dell. Not to ask me if I’d like to take part in the Shelter Come Dancing charity event… oh no. Instead, he simply said:

“You’re doing it, have fun. Oh, by the way, the meeting is today.”

So with about 3 hours’ notice (and still a bit sweaty from the shock 😅), I somehow ended up confirmed as a contestant for Strictly Goes Dirty Dancing 2025.
📅 Saturday 8th November 2025
📍 The Eastside Rooms, Birmingham

With the amazing support of my professional dance partner Dani, I’ll be training hard through September & October to perform a routine from the iconic Dirty Dancing! 😆 🕺

But here’s the most important part: this isn’t really about the dancing.
I’m raising funds for Shelter, a charity that works tirelessly to support people facing homelessness and unsafe housing.

👉 Did you know only 4% of Brits gave money to help the homeless last year? Together, we can change that.

Here’s how your support can make a real impact:
• £5 → Covers travel costs so someone can attend a job interview or flat viewing.
• £10 → Provides 4 hot meals.
• £25 → Helps someone access professional counselling for mental wellbeing and recovery.
• £48 → Funds a support worker to help someone in temporary accommodation find stable housing.

❤️ Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference.

I’ve set myself a target of £2,000, and I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
👉 Thank you to Fiona Conn for helping me figure out what on earth I’d just agreed to 🙏
👉 Thank you to Give as you Live Donate for making giving fast, easy, and secure (they’ll pass your donation straight onto Shelter).

So here we go… I’m dancing (very far) outside my comfort zone, but hopefully making a real impact along the way. 🌟

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Shelter.

My updates

Sometimes all it takes is asking and the results blew me away. ❤️

As many of you know, I’m raising money for Shelter. Yesterday morning, I looked at my total raised so far: just £70. Instead of feeling deflated, I sat down and started messaging people. ❤️

With some brilliant advice from Trevor Price and Chris Iles, and a bit of inspiration from Karyl Iles (with my own spin on it), within just 2–3 hours we’d raised nearly £400! 🙌 That honestly made me so happy.

I’m now nearly ¼ of the way to my goal with 8 weeks to go before the big event. I’m so excited (and a little nervous!) … especially since I haven’t danced in 2 years!!! 💃😅

A huge thank you to Prof. Paul Cadman, Sara Fleyfel, Sheila Kelly-Trow, Andy Kowalski, Adam Kayyali and so many others who chipped in. Your support means the world. 🌍

If you'd like to support, please feel free!!!!

And if you want to see me making a fool of myself on stage, come along to: 👉 eventbrite.co.uk/e/strictly-goes-dirty-dancing-birmingham-2025-registration-1306707490279?aff=oddtdtcreator

Here’s how your donation can make a real impact:

• £48 → Supports someone in temporary housing to find a stable home 🏠

Big thanks also to Fiona Conn and Pauline Cox for the support and to Gavin Dell for (kindly!) dropping out so I could step in! 😉

Every donation, big or small, really does change lives. Thank you all. ❤️

Right… so here’s how my Strictly Goes Dirty Dancing journey started.

Picture this,
I’m minding my own business when I get a call:
“You’re doing this charity dance thing.”

No “Would you like to?”… just straight up, “You’re in.”

Fast forward two hours later, I rock up to Albert’s Schloss in Birmingham, absolutely roasting, sweaty, and still wondering what on earth just happened. Next thing I know, I’m surrounded by a load of excited contestants who all look like they actually know what’s going on… meanwhile, I’m thinking, I don’t even know my left foot from my right. 🫠

Then boom, I get paired with my professional dance partner, Dani (poor bloke has no idea what he’s signed up for). I forgot what we're doing… to Dirty Dancing. In eight weeks. With me. Pray for him. 🕺💃

But look, the chaos and dodgy footwork aside, it’s all for an amazing cause: Shelter. They do incredible work helping people who are facing homelessness or stuck in unsafe housing. And that’s why I said yes (well, technically, I didn’t even get the chance to say yes… but you get the idea 😆).

So here we go,  sweaty, unprepared, stitched up, but ready to give it a go… and hopefully raise some money that will actually change lives. ❤️
