March of the day

In June 2026, the three of us will be taking on the incredible March of the Day III challenge in support of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
Between June 1st–6th, participants will cover 340 miles, visiting 44 football and rugby league grounds to raise vital funds and awareness for those affected by MND.
We will be joining the team of walkers for the 6th and final day of the challenge, where we will be completing over 32 miles ourselves alongside our friend Jess, whose husband Pete — one of our closest friends — sadly lost his battle with MND in February.

Pete faced MND with incredible courage, dignity and humour, despite the cruel reality of what the disease took from him. We saw firsthand how MND gradually robbed him of his independence, his mobility and eventually his ability to communicate, while never taking away the person he was at heart. The impact on Pete, Jess and their family and friends was heartbreaking, and it showed us just how devastating this disease is for everyone involved.

We are walking for Pete, for Jess, for Chris Rimmer, and for every family facing the unimaginable challenges that come with MND. We also walk in support of inspiring figures such as Rob Burrow, Stephen Darby and Marcus Stewart, whose bravery has helped raise awareness of this cruel disease across the UK.
MND is relentless. It affects the ability to walk, talk, eat and breathe, while there is still no cure. That is why fundraising events like this matter so much.
Every donation — no matter how big or small — will help fund vital support for families living with MND and crucial research into treatments and, one day, a cure. Funds raised will be split equally between the two charities involved in the challenge.
