My story
September 2025 saw my twelfth annual 100 mile charity walk. This year I returned to Wales to complete another, hopefully, drier walk than last year. I travelled to the Gower where I spent some time with family in my early childhood. I tackled the Gower Pilgrimage Way but, as its only 48.5 miles long, I had to do some serious planning to complete my normal route of 100 Miles. The Pilgrimage started in north Gower and ended in south Gower so I began my extra planning by finding a route to join the start to the finish!! I then planned a series of 3 circular walks and 1 linear coastal walk taking in Langland Bay where I spent many happy, sunny summer hours in and around my aunt & uncle's beach hut! Those of you who are familiar with coastal areas know that, despite my aging knees, although I've tried choosing the flattest routes I could find, given the hills and rugged coastline, I have calculated that I'll be climbing the equivalent of almost five times up Ben Nevis!!
I am still raising funds for the WRAC Association as it is mainly thanks to them that I am able to undertake this challenge. In case you didn't realise it, it is now free (NO CHARGE) to join the association if you are a female military veteran or serving female member of the military. Follow the link to join:

I am also still raising funds for a small but vital Pembrokeshire charity, the VC Gallery, who aim to combat loneliness & social isolation for veterans and the community. I visited the facility during my walk in 2024 and found it to be an incredible place that does an amazing job supporting veterans and members of the local community thanks to their wonderful staff and very active volunteers.
