My story

A multi-sport challenge to be taken on by ~20 McKinsey Legal colleagues and friends from all over the world! The Maltese Falcon from Rat Race crosses the hilly islands of Gozo, Comino, and Malta (16.5km run, 6.3km kayak and 56km cycle/run). Starting at 3am, they will complete the ~15 hour course on October 14th, 2023 as a team – some individuals taking on the entire course, some as a relay. Participation is voluntary, self-funded, and, in addition to spending their summer training for this ambitious event, the team is raising funds for two deeply meaningful charities: Children with Cancer UK and International Rescue Committee, CRISIS: Turkey and Syria Earthquake. All the donations will go to the charities (less the usual fundraising platform fee). The team would be hugely grateful for any contributions, small or large. We also thank McKinsey colleagues who have donated via McKinsey Gives.

Children with Cancer UK

Children with Cancer UK provides families with support for today and hope for tomorrow, funding the vital research needed to fulfil their vision – a world where every child survives cancer. Their mission is to ensure that children and young people with cancer have the best chance of survival by pioneering research, empowering their families, and giving them hope for tomorrow.

International Rescue Committee – Devastating Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

IRC supports communities in Turkey and northern Syria following the earthquakes on 6 February 2023. IRC’s services include the provision of essential items such as household kits, dignity kits for women and girls and hygiene supplies as well as setting up safe spaces for women and children affected by the crisis. With the provision is continued funding, IRC teams can continue to rush supplies and aid to those who need it most.
