Great North Run 2015

Event date: 13th September 2015

Jamal Bhatti is raising money for EDHI International Foundation UK

My story

"If you do the Great North Run, I'll do Movember." ... "Fine, you're on."

That was 2013. 2014 was going to be my year, but my knee gave in and I lost £50 in cash. So I signed up again. Only difference is my ankle is knacked this time but I'm not losing another £50.

So that my efforts in this stupid endeavour aren't completely wasted, I thought I'd do some fundraising at the same for the Edhi Foundation.

As you may or may not be aware, Pakistan isn't a particularly stable or prosperous country so charities do a lot of a work in propping up the less fortunate. None, however, do quite as much work as the Edhi Foundation. Not only do they have one of the largest voluntary ambulance services in the world, they also run hospitals, orphanages (with cradles outside for anyone to leave a child should they not want it), schools, rehab centres, shelters for the mentally challenged, and a service that will provide anybody a proper burial, even if it's a body found in a ditch after 3 weeks in the sun. All of this set up by one man from scratch. If he doesn't deserve a quid, I don't know who the hell does.

In short, it's an amazing charity set up by an amazing man who deserves your money, please donate today.

If you want to find out a bit more about the charity or the man himself, Google him and watch the videos below. If you have any other queries, send me a message. You can also follow my whining and efforts on Twitter (@mildlymadmedic)

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto EDHI International Foundation UK.
