My story

This July I am climbing Mount Snowdon IN THE DARK to raise money for Pathways4all; an amazing charity based in the North East of England.

This charity provides a haven for both my family and many others at The Tim Lamb Centre, North Tyneside, offering play and leisure services for disabled children and young people from across the region.

We all know how little support there is for children and young people with SEND. So many families are struggling to meet their children’s basic health, social and educational needs. But the Tim Lamb Centre is a place which provides so much for it’s community. It is a place where children and young people can be who they are and enjoy themselves without fear of judgement. It is a place where the daily isolation and relentless battles that parents and carers are faced with are eased, both through kindness  and understanding from those who work and volunteer there, and by connecting with other families within the Tim Lamb community.

I love to walk and hike but I’m not an experienced mountain trekker. I have vivid memories of 10 year old me, glued to a rock on Helvellyn in the Lake District. I am not good with heights and the dark adds a whole other dimension! 21km and an 8 hour trek. This is bound to be a challenge but I am hoping the guided group and your support will help me through!

I am ready to stretch myself well out of my comfort zone, to take myself to the edge of the world, and to hopefully raise as much as I can. I would love to give back as much as I can to the charity which brings so much to our world  EVERY SINGLE WEEK!

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who greet us every week, with the friendliest faces. We are SO grateful for the friendships and connections we have made along the way.

Huge thank you for any and all donations. I know times are tough  for so many at the moment. But if you can spare even the smallest amount it would be hugely appreciated. I guarantee any money raised will bring nothing but joy and comfort to a community who is very much in need of your support.

Thank you for reading. Wish me luck! ⛰️
