The Natixis Charity Peloton are raising money for Inspire! Education Business Partnership and Providence Row
After a 4-year hiatus, we are pleased to be resurrecting our annual 3-day Charity Cycle later this year, see full details below.
This was an event that we had been running since 2017, riding between Natixis offices / Sales Conferences across Europe to raise money for our two UK Charity partners, Inspire! and Providence Row. Unfortunately COVID had put an end to those after our largest and longest ride in the summer of 2019, from London to Amsterdam (apart from a Socially Distant ride challenge during 2020’s lockdown), but this year we are planning to get the ball rolling for a full 3-day ride again.
In late September, we will be cycling from our offices next to St Paul's Cathedral, down to the Isle of Wight, around it and then back to London, covering ~400 km / 345 miles in 3 days.
Given that we are starting this ride after a hiatus of 4 years and the fact that it will be a largely UK effort initially, we’ll set a fundraising target of £15,000 ….and hope that we smash that!
That total fundraising will be equally split between our two London charity partners, Inspire! and Providence Row.
We have continued to receive phenomenal support for these rides and we do always want to reiterate how important all of those donations are, no matter the size. We also know that everyone gives to other charities and indeed already contribute to our two charities. With these rides however, we are hoping that by putting ourselves through some element of hardship, that we can give our colleagues, family and friends a further reason to donate a bit more to these two great causes.
So far, that approach has worked, as we have progressed the rides over the years…
2015-16: 90km London-Brighton 1-day rides (£4,000 2015, £7,500 2016)
2017: London-Paris / 2-day / 270km / Channel-hopping ride (£15,000)
2018: Geneva-Milan / 3-day / 430km / Alpine-crossing ride (£23,000)
2019: London-Amsterdam / 3-day / 505km / pre-Sales Conference ride (£32,000)
2020: The Socially-Distant one / 3-day / >5,000km total! / 36 riders across the world (£19,000)
…we always just hope that this increase in calorie-loss over the years does in some way help us to justify the ask to donors when the fundraising email comes around!
Thanks
The Natixis Peloton!
