New Life for Orphans Uganda - Monthly Needs

Our story

  • GIVING TUESDAY 2024 - Prior to Giving Tuesday 2024, this page has raised £9,419 over time from generous donors all over the world (not just the UK). Therefore, to reach the goal of raising the full school fees and supply costs for the January-April school term, the target total page goal is £12,119. In order to raise the full amount for NLFO's 2025 annual budget, the target total page goal is £36,719 (see their monthly budget figures below). Please help us reach these goals, this Giving Tuesday and beyond, by donating and sharing today - thank you so much for your help!

New Life For Orphans Uganda was established in 2013 to support orphans and vulnerable children in the Mityana District of Uganda. The children who NLFO support suffer due to family problems, early marriages, loss of one or both parents, HIV-AIDS and child labour. The organisation is mostly active in the Banda Sub-County in which 28% of children are orphans and 68% of children below the age of 15 have no access to education.

Since its establishment in 2013, the number of children in the care of NLFO has increased from 10 to around 100. The goal of NLFO is to provide as many of these children as possible with access to education as well as food and safe housing for those who need it.

The work of NLFO has been observed in person by four eyewitnesses, trusted by friends in the UK - one trusted Ugandan national church pastor (2017 and additional times since) and three different UK citizens visiting Uganda at three different times (2018, 2019 and 2021), each with past experience in and knowledge of the country and culture - as well as local leaders and inspectors, unknown personally to the international friends of NLFO but whose reports we have been given over the years as well.

In 2022, NLFO's new building was completed (they no longer have to rent and move every so often), and in 2023 land was purchased to develop self-sustaining food sources through farming.

NLFO are seeking to build a team of committed regular supporters to cover ongoing monthly expenses such as food, clothing, medicine, and especially school fees and school supplies (see totals below).

This giving page can be used for one-time donations toward NLFO's monthly expenses. However, the Give As You Live platform also supports recurring donations, making it simple to set up regular automatic donations from anywhere in the world. UK donors can also use this page, or give directly through a standing order to Afrinspire.org.uk, noting that the donation is for "31667 - NLFO" in the memo.

Please will you consider joining other friends of NLFO from around the world to become a monthly supporter, and share this page around with others you know who may be able to help? While larger donations now and then and year-end giving are very much appreciated and always welcomed if that suits you better, smaller amounts given monthly will help NLFO to have a steady income with which to budget for their expenses to meet the children's needs.

Any questions, please feel free to contact New Life for Orphans CEO, Sserubiri Davis at newlife.orphans (at) yahoo.com. If you wish to speak with international friends of NLFO (mostly in the US or UK, but other places as well), Davis can put you in touch with us.
