Charles Plumb is raising money for Himalayan Peoples Project - Nepal
My name is Ollie and I am cycling the entire length of South America to raise money for Himalayan People's Project Nepal. An epic 10650 kilometers of cycling of which I have not trained for and I need to cycle approximately 70 miles every day to stay on schedule.
This was setup on behalf of Ollie to help increase his donations and to allow everyone to keep up with his progress. So far Ollie has raised £180 which a large amount of is his own donation. Please share amongst your friends and family and lets help him raise a figure worthy of such an incredible and gruelling adventure!
Many experiences have already been had and a huge range of people met. A few of the highlights have been: being chased by a bloke with an axe and his dog due to knocking on a hostel window to ask if I can fill my water bottle (he never gave me the chance to ask). Doing a river crossing with the water line at my arm pit, stark naked, whilst it snowed, and for my last night before setting off on my bike. Being invited to stay and dine with the workforce at the tourist attraction at a point called fuerte bulnes. Pasta followed by bread and cheese board, wine and cadburys was all part of this evening. Not to mention cracking chat with these lovely people.
Cycling wise, having done a total of 5 miles in training for this 8000 mile undertaking it is fair to say that I am suffering. I have managed about 50 miles a day so far with a slight head wind but on perfectly good road. I hope I get fitter as my flight at the end of June means I should be doing 70 miles a day on average, including dirt roads of which there are many. So far the mileage isn't exactly stacking up. But it's still awesome
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Himalayan Peoples Project - Nepal.
