My story
I recently realised I wasn't alone as a survivor of sexual abuse, but when I approached the right services, the wait for their support seemed too long. So I want to do something about this and raise funds for Birmingham's Rape and Sexual Violence Project. They support and inspire children, women and men after sexual abuse and have had many more people requesting their specialist counselling, after the Jimmy Savile case.
I planned to cycle to the Black Sea in June/July 2013 to fundraise but not too long after I set off, I sadly got injured. You can still donate here though, so RSVP can expand their team and see people more quickly after traumatic experiences. Along the way I wanted to also increase awareness about mental health.
