Paddy Beames Fire Walk

Hi!

I am taking part in the Fire Walk for The Door Youth Project on September 29th.

I have been volunteering with The Door since 2015, and recently have taken a job as an official staff member of The Door Charity Shop. The charity is dedicated to supporting young people and their parents throughout Gloucestershire and provide a number of services for them.

When I started with The Door, I was a quiet and shy 18 year old, and working with the Charity Shop helped me develop a lot of confidence (just ask the shop manager!). The entire organisation has always been respectful and supportive towards me (even if they're staff members I don't work with directly). I know that if I'm ever going through a difficult time, that I can always go there and talk about it free of any judgement.

Now I'm an official staff member at the Charity Shop (and as of recently, a volunteer youth mentor too), I hope to continue this cycle with the newer faces around.
