My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am running the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday March 7th on behalf of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO). This charity does vital work in Snowdonia, providing a safety net for those of us who love the beauty and challenge of the wonderful mountains of Snowdonia. The OVMRO is run entirely by volunteers and costs about £55,000 a year to operate, and although I have never fortunately had to call on them, I have known they were there if disaster struck. Please visit their website and click on "Incidents" to get a flavour of what they do.

OVMRO is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue Teams in the country assisting Police and Ambulance authorities with rough terrain search and rescue in Northern Snowdonia. Its members are on stand-by 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year; giving their time for free to assist fellow users of the great outdoors who have come to grief.

I would be very grateful if you would sponsor me and help me reach my target of £500. Thanks very much.

Philip
