Rachel's Lip Sync for Shelter page

I'm back again for this year's lip sync battle. 

As a mortgage adviser based in Merseyside, I am seeing first hand the devastating effects of this country's homeless crisis. The stereotypical homeless person used to be the vulnerable drunks and homeless people of the world. But I am now helping families faced with ending tenancies who are being forced into temporary accommodation.

The local authorities advise people to declare themselves homeless to become more of a priority on the housing list. And people are living in hotels, with children, with no space and volatile neighbours.

I visited the Shelter Hub in Anfield last summer and was blown away with the support they offer to people facing homelessness. I have a loyal commitment to supporting them. I gave my all last year as Merseyside's answer to Taylor Swift. It was a lot of fun and we raised a lot of money between us! But the show must go on and so must the fundraising. 

Being a mortgage broker, my priority is to put a roof over people's heads. Because everybody deserves a home.
