Remembering Jonny - 15 Day Everest Base Camp Fundraiser Challenge

Our story

My younger brother Jonny, who battled narcolepsy, sadly passed away in December 2022. In his memory, I am determined to turn this difficult time for my family into an opportunity to do something positive and bring greater awareness to this massively misunderstood condition that turned my brother's life upside down, and is something Jonny was passionate about.

SO...one of my amazing sisters, Jenny and I have signed up to trek from Katmandu to Everest Base Camp May 2024! A massive dream of ours, 15 days in total, and 5,364 meters high! The training has already started and has been a massive wake up call. Building up to 5 workouts a week, including running, strength training and of course ensuring we are getting those hikes in, started with Kinderscout, Snowdon and the 3 peaks are next.

Why Narcolepsy Awareness Matters:

Narcolepsy is a neurological chronic disorder that affects the lives of thousands in the UK, and yet it remains underdiagnosed and underfunded. I have witnessed firsthand how this disorder took over his and our family's lives. The daily challenges faced by individuals with narcolepsy is just not understood and it's time we come together to make a difference in their honor. By raising awareness, we can break down the barriers of stigma, encourage research, particularly for medication, and improve the quality of lives of those living with narcolepsy.

  • Support Research: Fund research projects aimed at discovering new treatments and advancing our understanding of narcolepsy.
  • Community Building: Create a supportive community for individuals with narcolepsy and their families, fostering connections and sharing valuable resources.

Donate Today and Make a Difference:

Your support, no matter how big or small, will contribute to a brighter future for those affected by narcolepsy.

Spread the Word:

If you're unable to contribute financially, you can still make a significant impact. Share our message on social media, talk to your friends and family, and help us reach a wider audience. Together, we can help to create a world where everyone with narcolepsy feels seen, heard, and supported.
