Remembering Jonny Bevan

I am taking on Steptember in memory of JB, he was my rock, my soul mate, my best friend. On 31/7/2018 JB and I were gifted the wedding day of our dreams, by the charity Gift of a Wedding. JB was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer in March 2015, in October 2017 it had metastasized to his brain, liver, lung and spine. JB was a very popular man with many friends and family, he was overwhelmed at the generosity shown by everyone from the people who donated their services to the friends and family who made that day magical. He would have loved to have been able to give something back in return for the beautiful memories he took with him. The day was truly something special a day where everyone came together to celebrate our love. We had found each other late in life, sharing 5 years together but right from the beginning, we both knew that the love we shared was very special.

As many of you know since JB's passing I have struggled with my walking and as the months have passed I now need to use crutches or walking sticks due to needing two new knees, as a result of an accident 8 years ago. My motivation has gone out of the window and it's much easier to say "I can't be bothered today" than push through the pain.

So this is the motivation I need, I am doing Steptember in memory of JB, September is JB's birthday he would be 52 this year, and so I aim to walk 1 mile every day during the month of September. It would be amazing if I could reach my target of £300.00 by the end of September to give back to the charity Gift of a Wedding. JB will be there cheering me on, saying "you go girl" ...

Thank you very much Gift of a Wedding as those memories I have of mine and JB's wedding day have helped me through the last 2 years, I have the photographs on a digital frame in my front room and JB's smiling face shines through :) ..
