Challenge freaks applying their skewed idea of a good time to good causes. By taking part in the November Tough Mudder event (17th), myself and fellow mentalist (Paula), hope to do a little to help others.....oh yes, and we will also be sporting tartan tutus and fetching ginger moustaches.....why not!

HALO (halotrust.org) is the world's oldest and largest humanitarian landmine clearance organisation. For more than two decades, they have set the standard for the sector through technical innovation and robust management.

By March 2012, twenty-four years after founding HALO, they have reached some important milestones that include:

over 1.4 million landmines destroyed;
over eleven million items of larger calibre ordnance destroyed;
over fifty two million bullets destroyed;
over 3,200 heavy weapon systems immobilized;
over 142,000 assault rifles destroyed;
over 8,300 minefields cleared;
30,657 hectares (75,755 acres) made safe from landmines;
139,773 hectares (345,387 acres) made safe from unexploded and abandoned ordnance;
12,501 kilometers (7,768 miles) of roads cleared;
