Rosedene Nurseries Supports DEBRA

Here at Rosedene Nurseries, we take pride in involving our children and team in the community and doing what we can to support our employees and families.

Jodie, the manager at our Egglescliffe Nursery, has been a part of Rosedene for over 16 years. It was Jodie who first introduced us to the challenges of EB when her nephew Louis, was born last year with the condition. Jodie has helped raised awareness of EB to all of us here at Rosedene, and we wanted to support Jodie's mission by hosting EB Awareness week across all of our nurseries.

DEBRA is a national charity and patient support organisation for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’. They have been fundamental in support for Jodie and her family, and this is why we have decided to fundraise for the organisation, along with raise awareness on the admirable work they do for over 3,500 members affected by EB.

EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch.

To raise awareness, all children across all Rosedene Nurseries have come together to create butterflies for a large display, along with a ‘Wear your clothes inside out day’ (Weds 25th October) to raise money for DEBRA.
