Running for Orphans in Cameroon

Deep in the Cameroonian highlands, in an area called "Boyo", lays a tribe called "Kom". Very rural, poor and with a high HIV rate many children are orphaned and left to their extended family.

From November 2007 - May 2008 I managed a wonderful project in Cameroon which helped these orphaned children by matching them with willing sponsors, usually in Europe and the USA.

With this money we were able to provided essential medical care, food supplements and valuable education to children who would frequently have severe medical needs, be malnourished and have no schooling.

I am raising funds to help support this wonderful project and improve the lives of many amazing children who I have had the honour of knowing, playing with and caring for - as well as the hundreds who have yet to be so fortunate as to receive assistance from the Project and who go hungry every night, cannot afford to go to school or suffer, and occasionally die, of their medical afflications.

I will be running the Swansea 10k (6.2 miles) race on September 25th and also the Cardiff Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on October 16th. While running either of these races is a feat in itself, I am to complete the Swansea 10k in under 50 minutes and Cardiff Half Marathon in under two hours.
