Shamaila’s trek to Everest Base Camp

Shamaila Kauser is raising money for Vision of Adventure

My story

Note At the end of Covid19 lockdowns, I was looking for an exciting opportunity / adventure. To travel, challenge myself and to feel better in myself. Pretty much anyone visiting this page will know that I am blind, so the opportunity being accessible for me was essential.
My search landed me on the website of Venture Force, who were taking a mixed group of visually impaired and sighted people to Everest Base Camp. Before I knew it, I was signed up!!

It doesn’t matter how fit you are, or how much fire you have in your belly to want to travel and explore, it really isn’t easy to do any of that without the right people and ethos around you. I’m grateful that this company had the confidence to try something new.

Having the right people and ethos is why I have created this page, to raise whatever is possible for an amazing charity called Vision of Adventure. VoA are a small, but mighty charity that provides accessible outdoor activities for visually impaired adults. I have benefited hugely from attending activities put on by this charity. The organization has great energy, where you feel like an empowered adult who happens to have a visual impairment and activities are being facilitated in an accessible way.

I am very disorganised , and just thinking of putting this page together now so there is something else good that comes out of the biggest mental and physical challenge I’ve taken on to date.
Writing this, we are 6 days through, and I am counting down the minutes until the fire is lit in tonights tea house at 4400m . All money raised goes to the charity.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Vision of Adventure.
