My story
My nephew Lucas MacMillan, was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour in September 2023 just after his 2nd birthday. The care and support received during his journey has been phenomenal. He has now had the all clear from Alder Hey and is under ongoing monitoring. He is conquering every challenge we put in front of him and goes to nursery 5 days a week and started walking independently in October 2024.
As a result of his brain tumour, Lucas has posterior fossa syndrome. This has caused some problems with his speech and balance. The Danny Green fund kindly provided Lucas with a specialist pram which is necessary as he outgrows his previous one.
To say thank you to the charity I will be fundraising by completing the Snowdon 6 challenge, alongside my sister, brother in law an many others. There are 6 marked tracks to the summit of Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa and we will be climbing the mountain 3 times using each track once. To make it more of a challenge Lucas’s dad, Dave, will be carrying the equivalent of Lucas’ weight on his back in a rucksack, probably around 25kg/55lb. Any support will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
