Snowdon Hike for Stepping Stones Luton

Event date: 4th May 2019

Denise March-Palmer is raising money for Stepping Stones (Luton)

My story

On the May 4th, 2019 Karrina is doing the challenging Snowdon Hike, the highest mountain in Wales and England.
A famous and recognisable landmark, Snowdon is a part of a close-knit family of jagged peaks of Snowdonia and offers views of Anglesey, Pembrokeshire, and Ireland on a clear day.

This giant of a mountain stands at 1,085 meters at the summit, and reaching the summit is only half the battle, climbers are tired when they reach the top making the decent equally challenging as they become more and more tired.

The Llanberis path is the longest route to the summit. Karrina will hike 9 miles (14.5km) with an accent 975 meters taking 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the top. A steady climb for 2/3 of the way until she reaches Allt Moses which is a tough climb, once above it then steadies out making it possible to enjoy the views as she reaches the summit.

Oh, and then she will hike back down, and not take the train!

Karrina joined Stepping Stones in 2016. as Women?s Service Manager, managing our amazing team of Women Support Practitioners. She has been working with vulnerable adults for over 10 years. A mum of 3 girls aged 22, 18 and 7 and still manages to fit in training and runs her own classes outside of work and is also training for a boxing coach qualification!

We are so pleased she has chosen to raise money to support the women and their children supported by Stepping Stones, and we ask that you can give her extra support and motivation, to reach the summit, in the way of a small donation.

We hope to hear all about her challenge when she returns safely and fully recovered.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Stepping Stones (Luton).
