Fundraising in Memory and Support of the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund

October is a very special month for me. It marks the 6th anniversary of the Metropolitan Police Widows and Widowers Support Group UK, a group that I created, and the 10th anniversary of my husband's passing.

To mark both, we held a special event on Wednesday at St Albans Baby and Toddler Group in Elm Park, raising money for the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund.

We raised money through sweet bags, cakes, cookies, face painting and a raffle, with all money raised going to the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund.

A huge thank you to my friend Maria for allowing us to hold the event at her baby and toddler group, and to my lovely friend Louise, who kindly did the face painting for the children.

We are also incredibly grateful to Sergeant Matt Atkin and his Inspector from the Elm Park Safer Neighbourhood Team, as well as the TSG officers who attended. Sergeant Matt Atkin kindly arranged for the TSG officers to attend, which made the day extra special for the children.

The children loved exploring the TSG carrier, holding the shields, sitting in the driver's seat, having the chance to put the siren on and trying on the police uniforms.

Blue Bows of Remembrance💙

I also created a Blue Bow display on the entrance gate to the hall. Each bow a beautiful reminder that they may no longer be here, they are never forgotten.
Each bow had a name tag attached in their memory.

Some members in our group have kindly supported the fundraiser with donations, and every donation means so much.
