SWBHT TLHC Team are raising money for Your City and Metropolitan Hospitals Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support
In 2024 SWBHT are launching a Targeted Lung Health Check programme to help detect lung cancer in its earlier stages.
To help raise awareness of the programme and raise funds for associated charities the TLHC team will be completing a number of challenges over the next 12 months.
The monies raised from these challenges are to be split equally between MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT and the Trust charity (Details of both can be found below)
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Your City and Metropolitan Hospitals Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Hello Friends,
I am profoundly grateful for the generosity in support of the cause.
The intention is to raise awareness and support the clinical services in the areas of Early diagnosis and Air quality.
I set out to climb Mount Kilimanjaro along with 5 other friends and NHS clinicians. This endeavour was designed to be the first of many challenging activities that will be carried out by the members of the clinical team in SWBH over this calendar year.
My attempt to climb the mountain was only a partial success as after 4 days of climb and after having reached a height of 4600 meters above sea level, I developed acute altitude sickness requiring Helicopter evacuation and medical care in the hospital.
Thankfully, I recovered fairly quickly and discharged to my hotel. Four of my friends successfully reached the highest peak 2 days later.
While, I harbour some disappointment, I am pleased to have undertaken this effort and likely will explore other challenges which is closer to sea level!
Once again, thank you for your continued support for the cause.
Best wishes
Arvind
