The TBC Charity Mash Up Video for Home Start Herts & The Pioneer Club

The Businesses Community (TBC) are raising money for Pioneer Club St. Albans CIC and Home-Start Hertfordshire

Our story

Back in 2017, we had this crazy idea to replicate the Justin Timberlake “You Can’t Stop The Feeling” video with local businesses.

It worked!!! And, we were nominated for a BAFTA (we made it to the last 6). AND, so far, this video has had over 217,000 views! And it made lots of much needed money for Home Start Herts!

See how many familiar faces and St Albans venues you recognise!

Not long after that, we made the TBC Christmas Mash Up Video.

It was such fun to make and everyone loved it and were asking “When’s the next one?”

Yep, that’s right - we said yes – and we are excited, prepped, pumped and ready to smash the other two out of the park with the 2024 TBC Mash Up Video!

This year, we will be supporting 2 charities that really need your help:

Home Start Herts and The Pioneer Club

Get your tickets to the Grand Premiere Screening of the video on Wednesday 24th April at 7pm at The Pioneer Club here - thebusinessescommunity.com/tbc-mash-up-video-2024/

Why Home Start Herts?
Parenting is challenging at the best of times, but when life throws you a curve ball it can plunge you into a state of despair and desperation.

Home-Start Herts (HSH) is here.  They support families with children under 5, who are struggling or in crisis, whether it’s managing their child’s challenging behaviours/neurodiversity, coping with mental health issues, or a family who have fled an abusive relationship; there is no judgment, just support!

Support is delivered by a trained volunteers and could be via weekly 1:1 visits to the family’s home, for up to nine months, or via one of their 9 family support groups they run. They help parents to build confidence, offer advice and strategies for managing children, signpost and support parents to access services they need, and of course provide someone to listen and talk to.

As a self-funded charity, they rely on the amazing generosity, compassion and goodwill of people in our community, so that they can continue to be there for families and children before they break down and children suffer. Sadly, this year we had to turn 85 families (150 children) away!

Why The Pioneer Club?
The Pioneer Club is a youth and community venue that has been at the heart of St Albans and beyond since 1941. Our vision is a world where all young people, no matter their circumstances, have the opportunity to take part in activities that improve their well-being.

With our partners we offer classes, events and workshops to young people aged 5 to 18 in skateboarding, performing arts and music. Our goal is to provide opportunities for young people to improve their mental health, stay active, find their passion, build their skills and be part of their community. We offer subsidised or free places on our programmes to children from marginalised groups who otherwise wouldn't have access.

In addition, we are a grassroots music and arts venue, delivering an exciting calendar of events, gigs, conferences and workshops to the adult community. As a CIC, all profit from these activities goes into our Youth Foundation, which funds our work with the community, leveling the playing field and ensuring that no child is left behind.

Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Pioneer Club St. Albans CIC and Home-Start Hertfordshire.
