Team Maesteg - Uganda Volunteer 2015

Sharon Clarke is raising money for Care for Uganda
My story
This is a wonderful opportunity for pupils of Maesteg Comprehensive School to take part in a Development Support Programme with Care for Uganda.
During this trip pupils will be involved in constructing tippy taps. This will improve health within the community as people will then be able to wash their hands after using the toilet.
They are also likely to help in the construction of a basic home to provide accommodation for one of the poorest families in the area.
They will see the realities of everyday life for families living in poverty in rural Uganda.
They will see the hope that these interventions bring to people in Bbowa.
This involvement of Maesteg pupils will have a huge impact and will assist Care for Uganda in its aim of giving people a hand-up rather than a hand-out.
This is likely to be a life changing experience for both pupils and teachers.
