My story
Delighted to say that I’m dusting down the yellow trainers as I’m joining the amazing Kevin Sinfield on (a tiny, tiny bit of) his latest charity challenge.
To recap, so far Kev has raised more than £10m for Motor Neurone Disease charities since his Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed.
This year’s challenge, “7 in 7: Together”, will see Kev running an ultramarathon of at least 45km (27.9 miles) each day, for seven days, in bursts of 7km (4.3 miles).
And, as in previous challenges, each day ends with an ‘extra mile’ event when members of the MND community join with Kev to finish the stage.
Next Sunday, December 8th, in Leeds, at the end of stage seven, I’ll be one of them!
To be honest, I’m not at all sure I can walk a mile any more as my legs are getting weaker.
But I’m giving it a go – and hope to raise money for the Rob Burrow MND Centre and the MND Association.
All support – emotional, financial and practical – very welcome!
