The Gandhi Family Fundraiser

Bhavi, Himika and I, along with 2 of my close friends and colleagues are choosing to take on the adventure of a Tandem Skydive in order to raise funds for these 2 charities which are very close to our hearts.

For those of us that know us, know that Pujit suffers from Adrenoleukodystrophy. His mother and our daughters carry the disordered gene too. Leukodystrophies are a group of conditions that cause a gradual degeneration of the nervous system in the body including the brain, spine and all other nerves. Alex TLC is a wonderful charity for families like ours that are affected by this group of illnesses. It helps provide invaluable support to us by bringing together families with world leading researchers and clinicians and providing us with the latest updates and advances in treatments!

Education is the birth right of every child. Project Mala endeavours to provide free education to underprivileged children in rural India. They have set up 5 schools that provide not only free education, but also free mid-day meal, school bag, books and uniforms to children who enrol with them. Our journey with this charity started a number of years ago when we set up a monthly direct debit to sponsor the education of our very 1st primary school aged girl. Over the years, this association has grown and we have continued to support more and more children. Bhavi also spent a part of her gap year teaching spoken English to the school students. Pujit and I have now been appointed to the board of trustees for Project Mala.
