Judith Meadows is raising money for The Daniel Estick Trust
Jude and Ryan will be attempting to complete the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 6th this year. We are run/walking in memory of Daniel, who would have been 18 this year, and in support of the The Daniel Estick Trust - a charity set up by his amazing parents, Claire and Ian - to help other bereaved families. You can find out more about Daniel and his charity here: danielsmemoryboxes.co.uk/
13.1 miles, easy for us, right? Well, maybe, once upon a time.
At the age of 18, Ryan's rugby injury left surgeons telling him that he would always walk with a limp and that he'd probably never run again. He does run, but it's not always easy, comfortable or pain free.
I used to describe myself as a long distance runner, until 2020, when Long Covid left me struggling with breathlessness and fatigue for over 2 years. It's been a long road back to fitness and I'm still unsure about my new limits and, frustratingly, I still need to pace my activity levels.
This is going to be a big challenge for us both, but we couldn't turn down the opportunity to raise funds for this little charity that provides help to families when the unthinkable has happened. If you can spare a couple of quid, that would be wonderful and please do look up the Trust and the work they do.
Thanks for your support,
Jude and Ryan
