Nottingham Half Marathon for the Thomas Read Bursary

On 25th September 2016 I will take part in the Nottingham Half Marathon to help raise money for the Thomas Read Bursary.

My friend Thomas was a truly remarkable and inspirational young journalist who worked on the sports bulletin team with Sky. Thomas was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was young but went on to achieve so much.

Sadly, in January 2015, Thomas very suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from complications related to previous surgery. It was a privilege to know Thomas and to be able to call him my friend and he is very much missed.

In his memory and to celebrate his life and his various achievements, Thomas' family set up a bursary to support aspiring young journalists who suffer from disabilities. You can find out more about Thomas and the bursary at thomasread.org .
