Marc Enderby is raising money for SAIGA CONSERVATION ALLIANCE

My story

On September 12th 2015 I will be participating in a gruelling 12k assault course. This course will include ice baths, electric shock runs, fire jumps, just to name a few. Which I have been preparing for in the run up to the event.

This gruelling course is nothing compared to the struggles of the species I am choosing to raise funds for . The Saiga antelope have seen a mass local extinction of 120,000 animals this year alone and are currently listed as critically endangered (IUCN).

The Saiga Conservation Alliance (SCA) are an organisation working towards conservation of the species through education of local communities. The men and women seek out attractive male horns to sell for traditional Chinese medicine. By giving the families other means of income and educating them along the way we can ensure the survival of this species.

Native to the plains of Kazakhstan and Mongolia these small antelope look other worldly with their distinctive snout and impressive horns.

Not a lot is known about this species so more research carried out by SCA is beneficial to the survival of this unique mammalian ungulate.
