Trading Places is raising money for Fredericks Foundation
Following last year's success, Fredericks Foundation are pleased to announce the next Trading Places Challenge for the week of 20th - 27th January 2012.
We are delighted to team up with you for the Trading Places Challenge. For one week we encourage you and your family to live on 'benefits' and to either personally donate and/or raise in sponsorships, a minimum of £67.50, equivalent to a one week single person's Job Seekers Allowance (JSA). The minimum donation amount is the same whether the person taking part is single or has a family. But we hope that you will take it as a further personal challenge to raise much more ....!
We do, however, recognise that a family will need to spend more in a week than a single person. Therefore, on the Friday at the start of the Challenge Week, you will withdraw £67.50 if you are single from your bank account. For a couple it is £105.95, plus £25 for each child. This is the only sum that you will have to spend for the entire week. We expect you to put away your credit cards and cheque books.
The Trading Places Challenge is Fredericks Foundation's defining Annual Event.
The sum to be raised of £67.50 per participant highlights the financial limitations our clients face on a continuous basis. Not merely for a week. Our future goal is to roll this event out to every Hub where we operate, and to include as many participants as possible in order to increase awareness for the Foundation and its important work in the community. We hope, by the end of the week, you will have had some fun and saved a great deal. More importantly you will discover how hard it is to live on JSA, and how difficult, if not impossible to save enough money to start your own business to lift you out of poverty.
So Where Do You Begin?
We have put together some useful hints and tips to help you on your way. Visit fredericksfoundation.org/events for more information and start you journey as a newly unemployed.
GOOD LUCK!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Fredericks Foundation.
