Twickenham to Treviso

Event dates: 8th June 2020 – 12th June 2020

VI Rugby Players are raising money for The Change Foundation

Our story

14 Players - 1,400km – to raise £1,400

On the 8th June, fourteen visually impaired (VI) rugby players will be taking on the challenge of cycling, running, walking and rowing from Twickenham to Treviso, a combined total of 1,400km in five days, to raise money for the development of VI rugby.

The players, who come from across the UK, will set off ‘virtually’ from the home of rugby Twickenham Stadium, racking up an average of 20km a day through their chosen discipline, aiming to reach Treviso, the home of Benetton Rugby and VI Rugby Ambassador Ian McKinley, by close of play Friday 12th June.

Why Treviso you ask?
The weekend of the 13th and 14th June was supposed to see these players stepping onto the rugby pitch in Treviso to launch the game in Italy but as we can not be there as a team we thought, what could be the next best thing?

Inspired by one of our players who cycled from his home in Northern Ireland to Twickenham, a group of players came together and developed this great challenge.

So, please help support these fourteen players raise money to set up more clubs and give visually impaired children and adults across the UK the chance to play the great sport of rugby.

If you would like any further information about the challenge or about visually impaired rugby then please get in touch with Alex Bassan at The Change Foundation by either emailing at alexbassan@changefdn.org.uk or phoning him on 07824 589414.
