Two sisters running two marathons

In memory of Sheena Lacey her twin daughters Sally and Maria are running both the London and Rob Burrow Marathons to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Tickets for Troops.

In December 2021 their beautiful mother Sheena was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, this was a huge shock to the whole family and their world changed over night.

Sheena, being the amazing woman she was, did not let this horrible disease define her and with the help from the MND Association her final few months were made that little easier.

MND is a vile disease that tears people’s lives apart but with the tireless work of the MND Association one day a cure will be found.
As well as running for the MND Association they are raising funds for Tickets For Troops.

Both sisters are serving soldiers and their mum Sheena, being their biggest supporter, used to really enjoy going to events with them both.

The aim of Tickets for Troops has always been to provide those who serve in the Armed Forces, those medically discharged post 2001 and the next of kin of those who have passed away as a result of their service, with the opportunity to attend events with their friends and family when they are not deployed. The charity helps to show how much their service is appreciated by their country and allow them to make lasting memories, especially as they often miss out on so many other key moments with their loved ones.
