My story
In January I am running a 110km ultramarathon in Rwanda, the “land of a thousand hills”, and am raising money for Mahdlo Youth Zone, a charity based in my hometown of Oldham.
Mahdlo was established in 2012 by the OnSide Network, which raises funds to build a network of state-of-the-art youth centres in the UK’s most disadvantaged areas. Having worked on various youth projects in Oldham, I know first hand the essential role that organisations like Mahdlo play in the town that I am proud to call home.
For 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year, Mahdlo offers a range of activities and opportunities that young people from across Oldham can access for just 50p. If you can give anything to nudge me towards my target, and keep me going in the hills, it would be greatly appreciated! All funds raised will go directly to the charity.
