Aryan, Miles, Olivia and Lawrence are raising money for The Lord's Taverners
We are four cricketers from the University of St Andrews and we use the word "runners" very loosely. Swapping spikes for running shoes, we'll be taking on the Edinburgh Marathon as a relay team in aid of The Lord's Taverners, a charity close to our hearts as cricketers.
Lord's Taverners provide free, inclusive cricket programmes that empower young people with disabilities and those facing socio-economic disadvantage — giving them the skills, confidence, and inspiration to overcome inequality and unlock their potential. As cricketers ourselves, we know what the game can do for you, and we want every young person to have that same opportunity.
Now, about the running. Three of us are suffering. Training is humbling, the hills are brutal, and our lungs have lodged a formal complaint. Then there is Miles our fourth member and athletics club member. He is, frankly, an extraordinary runner and is making the rest of us look embarrassing. We've accepted this. What we haven't accepted is defeat on the fundraising front.
Every pound you donate goes directly to giving young people a chance to play cricket, build confidence, and believe in themselves. That matters far more than our ability to run between the very distant wickets .
Please donate if you can. We'll be eternally grateful.
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Lord's Taverners.
