My story

Hi my name is Daisy, I'm the small flash of red in the right hand corner of the pic. I've been living with my mum, Chris, for 5 years now and I have the best life. Before I came here though I was what they called a trauma dog, at 8 years old I was so depressed I wouldn't move at all, I had to be carried everywhere. Now at 13 years old I love my runs on the beach, but I don't go too far from mum as she's a little disabled now and I like to look after her. I don't really remember how bad I felt back then but I do know there are lots of other dogs in as much and even more need than I was. So Haddon (my big little brother) and I are helping mum do this 100Km walk to help PAWS2RESCUE raise £25,000 to build a new shelter with a clinic (for vet treatment and spaying) in Romania. Mum doesn't walk so well now so she needs our help . So we know money may be tight at the moment but if you can spare a £1 please donate and help us help Paws2rescue to save some more poor souls. And if you can't right now then please support us with a smile and a wave when you see us rambling past with Mum's walker. Thanks a lot, Daisy.

My updates

Monday 12th, yippee, over the weekend I passed my 1/4 way mark of 25Km, and a little more today so I have now done 29.2Km leaving only 70.8Km to go 🤪. And seeing details of the plans for the sanctuary keeping me motivated, how amazing are they? This will be a place where dogs can heal, learn to play and hopefully go on to find their loving forever home. Just as importantly there will be a clinic for medical care and so vital spaying to help prevent so many unwanted puppies. Please, please help me to help this become a reality, every £1 donated will get PAWs closer to this sanctuary for unwanted and injured souls.

Thursday, my first week completed 😅. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, I haven't seen most of you for 2 years so your support is extra special. I'm so glad I set myself the 100Km target, had I stuck at the 20Km then having been up for 4 hours with pain last night I would not have pushed myself out today. But I can't really afford to miss a day if I'm to make my 100Km target, and that's what it's really about making a special effort to support the amazing work the rescuers do. So since my last update I now completed 16.3Km, leaving 83.7Km to do. These wonderful people really need our help if they are to keep saving these poor souls, please support my effort if you can. Maybe you have given one of these babies a home, or you support the SAS dogs and you'd like to help but can't walk yourself, I'd be very grateful if you felt you could support me please. 🙃

Hi all, today was hard, very hard and I hurt a lot, and I only managed 1.6Km making a total of 10.2Km, so 89.8Km to go. To be honest I wouldn't have struggled out if it hadn't been for the challenge and people like Callan. I promised to tell those of you who don't know Callan all about him. I wish I could add pics, but I don't know how and they don't belong to me anyway, so words will have to do. Callan is a medium size dog found on 25th March having been tortured and squeezed so hard by children that his insides were protruding on the outside of his body. He was found by one of the amazing rescuers and taken to the vets. Did they think "poor boy he's just a stray we had better put him out of his misery"? No they didn't and as they do time and again these Angel's without knowing if the money could be found took him to surgery to try and heal the evil done to him. And they did, I so wish you could see him now, a week later, up and about wagging his tail furiously and smiling (yes dogs smile) in anticipation of some good food. There may be terrible things happening to animals in Romania but there are also some wonderful people who give their all to help. Please if you can spare a £1 donate and help Paws2rescue to help those who care so much and go above and beyond to give love, compassion and healing to the animals so desperately in need. Thank you 🙃

Hi all, bank holiday Monday and while we had a bit of snow the sun has come out and in a walk at Holkham out of the wind it was glorious and great to be alive and well. Pete came with me, so though it took a few hours we managed 5.2Km today. That makes it 8.6 done and 91.4Km to go 🤪. Sometime this week I'll tell you Callan's story, for those of you who don't know the fantastic work that Paws supports, and just because the horror was so appalling and the outcome so amazing it made my heart sing. But for today thank you to all donating cash and everyone supporting me with warm thoughts, have a happy bank holiday 🙃
