My story
Hello, and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Its done.
Lynn, Sarah and I along with 10 colleagues from TGB walked the Chiltern Ultra 50km Challenge on Saturday. We set out from the Henley Showground at 7:30am - this meant a 4am start - and crossed the finish line at 21:10. Our total walking time was 12 hours and we are really proud of the fact that we finished.
The first segment was a chunky 13.95km but we were still fresh! It did however include one of the nastiest hill climbs I have experienced - Turville Hill with the Cobstone windmill on top. We stopped for a sock change and pastry in Ibstone and then continued on to lunch walking another 10kms. It was tough after lunch as the distance until the next stop was a very long 16.9km and we had been warned by those tracking us at home of another big climb. After the hill and an impromptu blister plaster refresh, sitting on a strategically placed pile of pallets, we had around 9kms left on a flat..... long...... tarred section - this was the hardest part! Even I stopped chatting for a while! We arrived at the 39.5km rest stop, at the top of yet another sneaky hill where I gulped down a Diet coke :) taped my knee, refreshed the blister plasters (AGAIN), changed my socks and had an electrolyte tablet...… We were all immensely grateful for the recharge!
We set out strong and motivated for the last 10 kms with the final 8 kms completed in the dark. It got tough and, once we stopped blinding each other with our head torches, we managed to push through the pain and cross the finish line.
All of this craziness was in support of a special cause, the MND association which Toyota has been partnered with, and your donation and support makes it all worth it. Thank you.

On 26th September I am taking part in the Chiltern Ultra Challenge, walking 50k to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDa) with colleagues from work!
This is a challenging event and allows us to support a great cause.
The challenge involves a superb 50km looped challenge in some of the Chilterns finest countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and fantastic views., and I’m aiming to push myself both physically and mentally while raising as much as I can.
Your donation will help to raising crucial funds to help the MND Association advance research, enhance care, and offer support to people living with MND, as well as their families and carers.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, really does make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support – it truly means a lot.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Motor Neurone Disease Association.
