Walking the Camino de Santiago for Education Saves Lives

Event dates: 9th September 2022 – 15th September 2022

Ayesha Dikko is raising money for Education Saves Lives

My story

A few years ago, I could barely walk 500 yards without complaining. Come covid-19, I started to walk everyday while enjoying the beautiful countryside with my husband and children. This gradually changed to walking with various friends and having a good catch up and talking about the past, the present and the future. I was getting good amount of exercise and mentally getting relief from the stress of covid.

Today, I can’t believe I’m walking the Camino de Santiago, Tui – Santiago de Compostela (120km) over 7 days to raise funds for Education Saves Lives.

At Education Saves lives, we believe language should never be a barrier to getting basic health information. We make interactive audio-visual health educational lessons and translate them into various languages and are distributed via DVDs or viewed online.

£10 for every kilometre I walk will help get 17 sets of DVDs which will have at least 250,000 views in disadvantaged communities all over the world.

Our audio-visual lessons are fact-based and designed by specialists in the respective areas of knowledge. They are then translated into the local languages of communities, so that all people, whatever their level of education, can access information that they can understand.

Please support this great cause. Anything you donate is something to someone out there!

Thank you ever so much!

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Education Saves Lives.

DONE!
I did it!! What an experience. Thank you all so much for your support. Every penny will go towards making more lessons to help give people basic health education in their mother tongue.
