Wycliffe College CCF - Ten Tors event 2024
Event dates: 11th May 2024 – 12th May 2024
Helene Woodham are raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young
Our story
We are a group of 12 cadets from Wycliffe College CCF, who are undertaking the Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor. We have already started our training and have two teams for 2024. One 35 mile team from Y10 and a 45 mile team for Y12. We will walk over two days and camp on the moor, for the Y10s this will be our first time walking and learning to navigate and for the Y12s they are coming back for more as they previously completed the 35 mile event in 2022. We would like to at the same time give back to a charity. Before the end of the autumn term we had a meeting about charities which means something to us and that we are passionate about. We have chosen Cardiac Risk in the Young as one of our team members has a cardiac condition and would like to support the charity in their work in Preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.
Our leader is also training for the Newport marathon on the 28th April and will also help fund raise with us, she has completed 13 previous marathon and looking for a time close to or just under 3hrs 50mins.
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Cardiac Risk in the Young.
