Well done! This is an heroic effort and so admirable. Even though I’m a Wires fan I can’t refuse such a deserving cause. 🙌

My story

Inspired by Kevin Sinfield, Rob Burrow, Lindsey Burrow and Doddie Weir and being a former rugby union player at Headingley Rugby club I wanted to make a contribution to the five charities supported by Kevin and his fellow warriors. I occasionally wore the number 7 at Headingley and Kevin's Ultra 7 challenge has now been adapted to suit the over 70s. Well this over 70 anyway. So the You'll Try challenge is to cover 7 miles a day for 7 days a week one week a month for 7 months. walk run cycle swim canoe do what you can do to support the 5 charities. By the by it is not exclusive to over 70s.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Motor Neurone Disease Association.

My updates

I am delighted to report that week 2 of my challenge has been completed on February 23rd. Many thanks to my companions for the week, which started with Andrew and the Darwen walking club and finished with my good friend Dave with Margaret joining me for a couple in the middle and three golfing buddies across the very hilly and demanding Walshaw golf course. Also the longer, chattier description of week 1 can be found on

https://7for7challenge.wordpress.com/ Hope you enjoy. I would also wish to pay tribute to someone who was in my thoughts a lot during this challenge; Terry Morris former Liverpool and Lancashire number 7 who died of motor neurone disease. A man with style both on and off the field.

I am very pleased to report that I have successfully completed my first week's challenge of You'll try 7 in 7. Many thanks to all those who have sent messages of encouragement and interest because they translate into much needed, added energy for me. Special, special thanks, as well, to the magnificent Margaret for accompanying me on 3 of the walks and also my buddy brother in law Andrew, who shared Friday's 7 in 7 on the Darwen moors (My one walk away from Tottington trails). A further massive thanks to all of you who have donated to the MND cause. It all makes a special difference. I will be writing a chattier description of the weeks walks elsewhere. The second 7 in 7 will start on Sunday February 12th. Thinking of doing something similar. Give it a go! Make a difference Jaz

I'm so grateful to all of you who have already contributed £230 for this special cause. I will be setting out on my first 7 in 7 this Sunday morning 0with my wife Margaret as my "pacesetter" .She also suggested I say a little more about the inspirational warriors behind this fundraising. I will post this on the WhatsApp pages but would also urge everyone to catch up on their stories via Google etc. Many thanks again Jaz
