Birdswood trip boat - replacement windows

The Friends of the Cromford Canal's trip boat "Birdswood" needs new windows in its passenger compartment: the existing windows are ten years old and are becoming opaque but more importantly are starting to let rainwater into the inside of the boat when moored up. We have started the process of obtaining competitive quotes for replacements – the first two of which have come in at over £6000. We would welcome donations towards the cost of replacement windows which we would like to see purchased and installed before the start of the new cruising season in April 2025: new windows will mean that our 5000 passengers / year will be able to optimize their cruising experience and we will be able to minimize the risk of inboard corrosion to the hull structures.
