Sheffield Emergency Relief for Gaza

Raising for Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange

Our Emergency Relief Fund aims to provide Palestinians in Gaza with desperately needed emergency relief (e.g food, clothing, nappies, tent materials, water etc etc).  Our primary ethos is Solidarity not Charity.

As of summer 2026 - including the funds donated on this page, the people of Sheffield and beyond, have sent over £650,000 to the Sheffield Gaza Emergency Relief Fund and supported over 19000 families since November 2023.

(See here for Winter Warmth Appeal 2026 update)

We take our lead from Palestinians; in particular our trusted local partner organisations who we have worked with for many years (such as the Never Stop Dreaming Project in Khan Younis).  They know best what is needed.  It is not through pity or 'charity' but through solidarity that we offer our support.

Donations are used in a diverse way as situations on the ground change regularly.  Mainly this support is in kind (food, clothes, materials but this depends on what the team can find to buy, and the cost), sometimes help is via bank transfers through the Bank of Palestine app, so families with no funds can buy what they most need.  We also support initiatives such as funds for materials to host play workshops for children, and support for education and therapeutic support centres with rent and resources. Our priority is providing what is most needed and available to our team on the ground as they work to keep life going during this Genocide.

We provide regular updates to show the incredible work our team on the ground is doing even through their own forced displacement, loss and hardships, to provide for the people of Gaza with the help of your solidarity contributions.

Winter Warmth and Shelter Appeal 2026

Families in Gaza are facing their 4th winter living amid the devastation of a genocide. With the UN experts warning Gaza is the world's worst economic crisis, keeping warm will be beyond people's means unless we help.

Close to 2 million people have been displaced from their homes, some multiple times,  being forced to shelter in tents so worn and flimsy that they provide very little protection.  Or they are living in the bombed-out ruins of buildings which are danger of collapse. This is what people in Gaza have to call their “home”.

So, this winter we launch a special appeal to all our supporters, near and far: help us raise funds for Winter Warmth and Protection.

This gives you a sense of how much things currently cost in Gaza:

  • Plastic sheets for tents (each tent needs 2 or 3 sheets – at £50-£60 per sheet)
  • Blankets (£15 each)
  • Warm outfits for children (£25 per child)
  • Baby milk (£10 per bag)
  • Nappies £15 for 40

PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN.
A one-off donation or – if at all possible - a Standing Order really helps. All donations go to Gaza. They are are given as a Gift from us to the people we support, with love, respect and solidarity.

About us

Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange

Charity number: 1198863

Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange (SPaCE) helps children in Gaza and the Occupied Territories by both providing funds to improve health play and cultural facilities and by raising awareness in Sheffield of the living conditions faced by young people living in Gaza and the Occupied Territories.

As of summer 2026, Gaza is still in the midst of an unprecedented crisis. Civil society has all but crumbled. For the most part our normal work cannot be carried out: the Children’s Centres no longer function, though they try. In these extraordinary circumstances, SPaCE has established an Emergency Aid distribution network with trusted locals in Khan Yunis, in the south of the Gaza Strip. Since November 2023, this has been providing basic essentials, including food, hygiene kits for women, children’s clothing, nappies, blankets, plastic sheeting for shelter and other such simple provisions to help sustain life.
