Pedalling 4 Peace: Cycling the UK for Gaza

I will be cycling the length of mainland UK (approx. 1000 miles), to raise funds for much needed emergency aid in Gaza. I will be doing so via the Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange (SPaCE) emergency relief fund.

The Challenge: I plan to cycle the length of the UK, from Land's End in the South-West of England to John O'Groats in the North-East of Scotland. With a target of 7 days, I hope to complete a rough average of 140 miles a day and raise £1 for each mile completed as I pedal myself from the Cornish coast to the Scottish Highlands. The Cause: The Sheffield Emergency Relief Fund for Gaza aims to provide Palestinians in Gaza with desperately needed emergency relief (e.g food, clothing, nappies, tent materials, water etc etc). It's primary ethos is "Solidarity not Charity". It takes its lead from Palestinians in trusted local partner organisations who it has worked with for many years (such as the Never Stop Dreaming Project in Khan Younis). Funds are used in a diverse way as situations on the ground change regularly.  Mainly this support is in kind (food, clothes, materials, direct payments to Palestinian families in Gaza, etc).  It also provides support for education and therapeutic support centres via the provision of rent and resources. Since its launch in late October 2023, the Emergency Relief Fund for Gaza has sent over $300,000.
