About us
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through its expert advice, support and legal services.
It provides people in need with one-to-one, personalised help with all their housing issues. Our emergency helpline is often the first port of call for people facing a housing crisis.
Shelter has been around for over fifty years, and will continue to fight until one day, every person has a safe, secure place to call home.

Strictly goes Dirty Dancing
Event dates: Saturday 30th November – Sunday 1st December
Our Strictly goes Dirty Dancing event is an evening of glitz and glamour as our contestants showcase their dance skills in a competition where the audience get to choose their winner!
Our contestants will be paired with a professional dancer and will learn specially created choreography in dance lessons from September 2024. The theme for the evening is Dirty Dancing, with our contestants and their partners performing to music from the movie we all know and love.
In order to take part, each contestant has committed to fundraising a minimum of £2,000 each in aid of Shelter.
Our group dancers, who will learn choreography as a group and perform on the night, have committed to raising £200 each for the charities.
