About us
Ape Action Africa is passionate about primate conservation in Africa - protecting Cameroon's great apes and monkeys through direct action. Our front line conservation work includes rescuing orphaned gorillas, chimpanzees and monkeys, providing them with individual care, and giving them a safe forest sanctuary home where they can live with their own kind.
The Silver Jubilee Challenge
Event dates: Sunday 1st August 2021 – Wednesday 1st September 2021
We are calling on our Ape Action Africa supporters to walk, run, cycle or swim a combined 5,000 miles (which is the distance from the UK to Cameroon) this August in celebration of the charity's Silver Jubilee.
2021 is proving to be the most challenging year in our history and, with our financial reserves almost drained, we will very soon be struggling to feed and care for the primates who've found safety in our sanctuary.
On average, it costs £1,053 a year to care for each individual. And with over 280 rescued apes and monkeys in our forest, your compassion and support are more important than ever before.
Help us raise £10,000 for the running costs of our sanctuary.
