About us

We provide support to refugees and asylum seekers in Cheltenham. Our application to become a charity was approved on Friday (23 July 2021).

We work to raise awareness and understanding of the issues faced by refugees in the UK and throughout the world. We want to build a kinder and more inclusive society through vocal support of resettlement, migration and asylum.

We also arrange community events to help families to meet up with one another and adjust to their new homes together. We hold summer picnics and Eid celebrations, as well as providing background support and resources as needed.

As with last year’s events in Afghanistan, the unfolding situation in Ukraine is terrifying, and many of us want to help any way we can.

Meanwhile, CWR continue to supporting the families who have fled Syria and the people from many other war-torn countries who are seeking asylum here in Cheltenham.

Whether you are an individual contributor, or acting on behalf of your community group, school, church or sports team, there’s a range of ways to make a difference, no matter what your capacity might be.
