Bedazzle is a charitable organisation committed to improving the social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) of children and young people, while fostering creativity and community engagement. Our core service is in-school SEMH support, commissioned by schools across the region. This provision complements statutory Tier 2 services and is tailored to each school’s needs, with some schools committing to long-term partnerships of up to eight years. Delivery includes whole-class sessions, small group interventions, and one-to-one therapeutic support, alongside guidance for staff and parents to create a holistic approach to wellbeing.
In addition to weekly SEMH programmes, schools also commission Bedazzle for ad hoc services such as assemblies and workshops for awareness days, and creative or performing arts projects. These range from fun enrichment activities, like end-of-term reward sessions, to large-scale collaborations such as the North Dudley Schools Art Project, which brought together 11 schools to celebrate local heritage through art.
Beyond school settings, Bedazzle operates Priory House, a vibrant community hub offering weekly art and music classes for home-educated families, with plans to expand into dance, drama, and digital skills. We host monthly social meet-ups for home-educating families, providing opportunities for children to play and parents to connect, shaping a growing programme of workshops and events. During school holidays, we deliver creative activities funded by the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, ensuring children learn new skills, socialise in a safe environment, and receive a nutritious meal—supporting families with essential childcare during challenging periods.
Our in-house Youth Theatre offers young people the chance to participate in projects and performances, transforming our studio into an intimate theatre space. We also run a weekly Band Night for local musicians, fostering talent and community spirit; our in-house band, formed through these sessions, has performed at Pride and is preparing for Dudley’s Christmas Light Switch-On.
Bedazzle also provides training for schools and organisations, including Mental Health First Aid, Neurodiversity in the Workplace, Trauma-Informed Practice, Supporting LGBTQ+ Pupils, and Restorative Practice. These sessions equip professionals with the skills to support diverse needs effectively. Priory House further serves as a shared space for community organisations, hosting dance groups, youth theatres, conferences, and meetings. Our basement resource hub offers costumes, sets, and technical equipment for hire, supporting schools and community groups in delivering creative projects.
We believe that to raise healthy children, we need mentally healthy adults. In the New Year, we will introduce therapeutic art sessions for adults and an intergenerational day of dance—creating shared experiences that strengthen family and community wellbeing.
Our beneficiaries include children and young people in schools, home-educated families, local musicians, and community organisations. We also indirectly support parents, carers, and educators through training and engagement. Bedazzle’s work creates safe, inspiring spaces where creativity and wellbeing go hand in hand, helping young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
